This Liverpool shirt was personally signed by Steven Gerrard in Formby on November 11, 2010.

It is an original Reebok shirt of the style worn by Liverpool in the 2005 Champions League final at the Ataturk Stadium in Istanbul on May 25 and also when Liverpool won the FA Cup the following year in 2006.

In the Champions League final Liverpool went into half-time 3-0 down to a rampant AC Milan side, only for Gerrard to inspire his team to the greatest fightback in the history of the competition. A year later, in the FA Cup final, Liverpool were seconds away from defeat when Gerrard unleashed an unstoppable shot to bring scores level. The Merseysiders went on to win on penalties.

The shirt comes in presentation packaging with an official certificate of authenticity, which features an image of Gerrard signing. It is a superb item for any serious collector of football memorabilia or an unforgettable present for a Liverpool fan. We only have a handful available.

One of the most dashing and predatory strikers in Europe, Fernando Torres became a cult figure at Liverpool from the moment he first pulled on the famous red shirt and his performances in his debut season at Anfield have already more than justified his club record £26.5 million transfer fee.

Born in Madrid in 1984, Torres joined his hometown club of Atletico at the age of 11 and it was immediately obvious the local boy was a start-in-the-making. Just six years later he was making his first team debut, making him the youngster player in the club’s history to appear in the senior line-up. He was made club captain at the age of 19 and it was not long before Europe’s biggest clubs were chasing his signature.

It was Liverpool who won the race and the Spanish striker arrived on Merseyside in July 2007 in a blaze of publicity. The hype was not misplaced and the goals soon started flowing.

He opened his Reds account against Chelsea at Anfield in August and it was to prove the first of many. Hat-tricks against Reading, Middlesbrough and West Ham followed and The Kop had a new idol for a new era.

About Steven Gerrard

Born and raised in Liverpool, Steven Gerrard is the undisputed fans’ favourite at Anfield and the midfielder’s dynamic, action-packed performances for the Reds over almost a decade have seen him forge a reputation as one of world football’s greatest players.

He made his senior debut for the club from the bench in March 1998 in a Premiership clash against Blackburn Rovers and he quickly established himself as an indispensable member of the side under the management of Gerard Houllier.

His influence grew with each season, he was first capped by Kevin Keegan in May 2000 against Ukraine and he was a key figure in Liverpool’s treble winning 2000-01 season, when the club famously club the FA, Uefa and League Cups. In recognition of his contribution, he was voted the PFA’s Young Player of the Year.

His career has gone from strength to strength since then. He was named club captain in 2003 and under his leadership the side has also added another FA and League Cup to the Liverpool trophy cabinet. His finest moment, however, came in the Champions League final of 2005 against AC Milan in Istanbul. Trailing 3-0 at half-time, the Reds looked dead and buried until Gerrard’s second-half goal inspired a famous fightback and Rafa Benitez’s side went on to lift European football’s greatest prize for a fifth time after winning a dramatic penalty shootout.

Voted the PFA Player of the Year in 2006 and awarded an MBE the following year, Gerrard is quite simply one of the finest players of his generation and with his 30th birthday a reassuringly distant prospect, he has many years at the very top for club and country ahead of him.

One of the greatest games in the long and illustrious history of the FA Cup, the 1965 final between Liverpool and Leeds United at Wembley was full of drama and ultimately could only be decided by extra-time.

Managed by the late, great Bill Shankly, Liverpool were looking for their first ever triumph in the competition after losing the finals of 1914 and 1950 and although they posed the greater attacking threat, they were unable to break down Leeds’ stubborn defence in normal time.

That all changed, however, in the third minute of extra time. Despite suffering from a broken collar bone, Liverpool left-back Gerry Byrne sent in a looping cross and Roger Hunt got to the ball first, scoring with a brave diving header.

Billy Bremner equalised for Leeds just two minutes later with a vicious half volley but Liverpool delivered the coup de grace just three minutes from time when Ian Callaghan played in Ian St. John, who headed the winner home.

Leeds were finally beaten and Liverpool lifted the FA Cup for the first time.
